Who we are
Founded in 2025 by a student, Liberty Informed is a nonprofit journalism initiative committed to strengthening civic understanding through transparent reporting and thoughtful discussions. Established with the belief that every citizen deserves access to trustworthy information, Liberty Informed empowers readers to shape the national conversation by bringing up what matters most to them. Each week the platform publishes a thoroughly researched article on a publicly selected topic offering balanced insight into the events shaping the United States. Through its website, newsletter, and social media presence, we foster civic engagement combat misinformation, and promote journalistic integrity—helping build a more informed and united public.
Meet the Founder
Welcome to Liberty Informed.
Abigail Sullivan , a student from Southern California, founded Liberty Informed in 2025 after being inspired by her democracy class and a desire to address the growing polarization and distrust in the united states. For Abigail, the name “Liberty Informed” reflects both the freedom to stay informed—a nod to the first amendment— and the responsibility to educate ourselves so we can safeguard our freedoms. With experience in speech and debate and student representation, she is passionate about fostering respect, empathy, and understanding across the diverse perspectives we are blessed to have in this country. Looking ahead, she hopes to expand the project into a larger platform for dialogue, while personally pursuing a future in law, policy, and public service.
“ Public policy is like a diamond–beautiful, complicated, and shaped by many facets. But even then, there will always be fissures that dilute its clarity. Each decision reflects the values of those who govern us, shaped by a mixture of data and assumptions. One by one, they affect real people. I don’t pretend to have all the answers, but I know what questions I need to keep asking.” -Abigail Sullivan
